Since the mid-90s Aichi-based artist Takefumi Ichikawa has worked with ephemeral media like sound, air, incense and milk in his performances and installations around the world. His recent work Aurora, a labyrinthine painting-sculpture incorporating floating fabric and bare light bulbs, is currently on show on the top floor of the abandoned Mansho-S Building in Nagoya’s shopping district Choja-machi, as part of the Aichi Triennale.
