DJ Shabushabu: Yes it will. I usually talk with musicians before recording. And a lot of times when we have good ideas for a funny song or ideas, we start recording. That’s why I think you can hear stories through alot of my songs. Also, when I listen to other people talking about music, like ideas or what music should be like, I do get influenced at that time. I just forget everything by the time I really am making music.
DSS: You forget absolutely everything as you are in the midst of making music? Or just a subset of everything?
DS: A lot of times, if it is not like an hour before, no matter how influenced I am, I forget it by the time I start making music. I think it’s just that I’m too stupid. But that’s a good thing for me. When I make music I try not to think too much, and just stick to my feelings and instincts at that time. But if its right before making music that i’m influenced. It will affect my music. So people who are very close to me affect my music.
DSS: Amelia [Big in Japan matriarch] tells me that you’re a dermatologist. Why skin?
DS: Because it is something you can see, feel, touch and is very close to you. Also, by curing peoples skin problems I believe it will bring up the quality of life.
DSS: How does music effect the quality of life?
DS: Music effects the quality of life way more than medicine I think. Sometimes when I have stomach aches, I listen to good melodies and ambient music and my pain goes away.
DSS: Does music alter how you practise dermatology?
DS: Because I am a musician, I’m not interested in becoming a professor or super dermatologist. I just want everyone to be happy.
DSS: Has dermatology changed your music in any way?
DS: It did. I’m too busy to do music. But I’m still doing music because I can’t stop!! I love it!!
DSS: What do you think about as you are in the midst of operating on another person’s skin?
DS: I can’t fuck up. I have to make it as beautiful as possible.
DSS: What makes a good ending?
DS: A good ending happens after something happens. If there is a great story, sometimes it’s even better to let the ending lack something. But sometimes you make a crazy ending to make a boring story interesting.

i love this guy!
