Referring to his work as ‘Unproductive Production Activity’, Tetsushi Higashino says his primary concern lies in our relationship with the insignificant. Screening at this week’s Big In Japan events in Sydney and Melbourne is his new omnibus video work featuring a box entering a castle, the artist turning himself into a futile air circulating system, and toilet paper resisting rectilinearity.
Big In Japan 2011 is happening at Paddington Town Hall in Sydney on November 15 and 16, and at 1000 Pound Bend in Melbourne on November 18 and 19. More on Tetsushi’s art here and here.
